My publisher (Boyds Mills Press) is going through some major changes, and my wonderful editor, Joy Neaves, will soon be there no longer. I’m very sorry to lose her. Isabel would not be the book it is without her patience, wisdom, and demand for excellence.
It remains to be seen what this will mean for my easy reader, Slow Poke. For now, it’s on hold.
I went ahead and planted a new flower garden near the mailbox and have been watching for rabbit evidence daily. A good spreading of powdered dried blood (no joke!) is supposed to ward them off, so I did that (no, not my own—you can buy it). Garlic is supposed to ward them off, too. It’s all very Bunnicula sounding, come to think of it, though I suppose blood would attract a vampire bunny, not deter it.
